Moving from a parents home to supported housing

Unread postby AndrewBCSS » 28 Jun 2016

Hi Siblings,
I have heard from many siblings of persons with a mental illness who are worried about what will happen when their ill sister or brother is unable to continue living with elderly parents. Supported housing is an option for this situation but sometimes can be challenging to help a sibling move to or to find suitable supported housing

What have been your experiences with supported housing for your family member? Does your family member live in supported housing? Do you think it would be a good idea? How has your experience been helping a family member connect with supported housing?

Sincerely,
Sophia
