Just found out about Reach Out and wanted to share with you our new documentary film A Sister's Call
. In 1977, filmmaker Rebecca Schaper's brother, Call, disappeared. 20 years later, Rebecca found Call homeless, alone, and suffering from severe paranoid Schizophrenia. Director Rebecca spent the next 13 years documenting her brothers recovery from the depths of his Schizophrenia and the film she was left with is an intensely personal story of mental illness, family, and above all, love.
Throughout our outreach campaign, we aim to be both a tool, and a resource for the mental illness community. We hope to use the film as a way to educate the public, and reduce the stigma that surrounds mental illness. We also hope to be a source of inspiration for those going through the recovery process.
